Tasting Events at Calleva Farm
Taste of Calleva is our pinnacle farm-to-table dining experience at Calleva Farm. Each mouthwatering dish is crafted with locally sourced, ingredients straight from the fields of the Montgomery County Agricultural Preserve.
Calleva’s Farm Store

Humane farming allows animals to be able to roam free and engage in natural behaviors, like wallowing, rooting, and foraging. Pigs in particular desire social interaction.
To say Farmer Max goes above and beyond in creating bonds with the Calleva Farm animals would be an understatement. Farming is hard work, but Max finds a way to give special attention to all of the critters on the Farm.

Did you know that the word Calleva means "crossing paths?"
Tastes of Calleva celebrates the flavors of Spain. Our team has family connections in Spain`s Basque region and Chef Flash loves the food from that area.
Unique ingredients from the Basque country influence our adventurer and inspired Calleva`s Basque-style pork chorizo, which will be one of the highlights at Taste of Calleva. Tapas that feature Calleva raised pork, sweet Spanish paprika and a variety of herbs from Farmer Max`s garden.
This savory, but not super spicy dish aims to please.

Stories from the Farm
We have golden memories of gardening with our parents & grandparents.
The planting - weeding - watering routine set the rhythm of our childhood summers, and the flip side of all that work was the satisfaction of eating perfectly ripened produce right there in the garden!
Walking through the family garden on a mid- summer evening was magical & full of rich aromas – the musty scent of the earth, the bright pungent fragrance of ripened tomatoes, and soft perfume wafting from a bouquet of basil.
Chef remembers carrying a salt shaker along as he wandered, selecting tomatoes & cucumbers off their vines & eating them immediately.
That`s the inspiration for Taste of Calleva`s "Salad in a Jar." Guests will pick up a jar filled with just-picked goodness from Calleva Farm’s summer garden – tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers & lettuces (+ maybe a few green beans) all ready to be shaken up in an herby vinaigrette.

Calleva Farm is an outdoor education classroom.
3rd graders visited the farm and Farmer Max this week where he taught them to make pots out of recycled paper.
Students left with basil, corn and butternut squash seedlings and a better understanding of how food is grown. Throw in the beautiful weather, Noodle the pig, Diesel dog, and it was a pretty stellar outdoor educational experience.
Thank you Foodie and the Beast and @nyccinellis for welcoming Calleva to the Foodie table.
