MD Outdoor Film Intensive (Ages 11-15)

MD Outdoor Film Intensive Camp

This camp is a little different! (Okay, it’s a lot different.)

Most Calleva programs offer action-packed outdoor adventures. While this camp takes place entirely outdoors, Film Intensive emphasizes focus, discipline, and a commitment to learn the basics of narrative filmmaking.

Over the course of four days, students will brainstorm, write, shoot, and edit a 3-5-minute short film, under the close supervision of seasoned filmmaker Keith Boynton. The film screens for other campers on Thursday evening (as part of the group’s overnight camp out), and Friday is spent exploring shallow creeks and ponds in the Poolesville/Dickerson area, celebrating, and reflecting on lessons learned!

IMPORTANT: This program is best suited for highly motivated campers with a sincere interest in the craft of moviemaking. It’s fun, but it’s hard work, too!
