Unplugged Campers Get More From Camp

As parents, we all want what’s best for our children, especially when it comes to their summer experiences. That’s why at Calleva, we believe in the transformative power of a device-free summer adventure.

In today’s digital age, it’s easy for kids to become tethered to their devices. However, at Calleva campers can disconnect from screens and embrace the great outdoors. Here, campers can unlock a world of benefits they might otherwise miss out on.

Unplugging and embracing the adventure at Calleva can be the best decision you make for your child this summer!

‣stress less, adventure more

Campers who bring phones with them often find themselves stressed about losing or damaging their devices. Calleva does not take responsibility for lost or damaged electronics. (But find out what your campers SHOULD bring to camp here).

This responsibility can be a big distraction for campers. At Calleva, we understand that accidents can happen. However, we also believe in fostering an environment where campers can let go of those worries and focus on the present moment.

Without the distraction of phones, campers can fully immerse themselves in the adventure, whether they’re navigating the ropes course, conquering the rapids, or bonding with new friends around the campfire.

‣stay present and safe

In a world where screens constantly vie for our attention, it’s easy for campers to get distracted. Being distracted when important safety or directional instructions are being given can leave campers feeling confused.

By leaving devices behind, campers can stay present. Thus, campers can engage during activities, ensuring they receive crucial guidance from our experienced camp leaders. Whether they’re learning to tie knots, paddle a kayak, or navigate a hiking trail, campers can fully focus on honing their skills and mastering new challenges.

‣connect with nature and each other

At Calleva, we believe in the power of real-life connections. Nothing fosters those connections quite like unplugging and immersing oneself in nature. Without the distraction of screens, campers have the opportunity to forge meaningful bonds with their peers, build teamwork skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world around them.

Whether they’re exploring the forest, splashing in the river, or gazing up at the stars, campers at Calleva enjoy the beauty and wonder of the world outside their screens.

‣cultivate awareness and mentorship

In today’s digital age, it’s all too easy for campers to miss out on mentorship and personal growth. Campers are missing opportunities being glued to their devices. By disconnecting from screens, campers can become more aware of the world around them and open themselves up to the guidance and wisdom of their camp counselors and peers. In fact, campers can miss out on these opportunities without even realizing what they are missing.

Whether they’re learning a new outdoor skill, overcoming a fear, or navigating a challenge, campers at Calleva have the chance to receive invaluable mentorship and support from those around them.

‣empower problem solving and initiative

Finally, by embracing a device-free environment, campers have the opportunity to develop essential life skills such as problem-solving, initiative, and self-advocacy.

Without the crutch of technology, campers are encouraged to think creatively, take risks, and take ownership of their experiences. Whether they’re navigating a ropes course, planning a camping trip, or working together to overcome an obstacle, campers at Calleva learn to rely on their own skills and instincts, empowering them to tackle challenges both in and out of the wilderness.

Unplug and unleash the power of device-free summer adventures at Calleva

At Calleva, we believe that device-free summer adventures offers countless benefits for campers. Campers reap the benefits from reducing stress and fostering connections to promoting personal growth and empowerment.

By unplugging and embracing the adventure, campers can unlock their full potential and create memories that will last a lifetime. So this summer, why not give your child the gift of unplugged adventures at Calleva? Trust us, the benefits are truly endless.
