Offered Weeks 2-9
Adventure Camps are at the heart of Calleva. For two decades, we’ve believed in the idea of offering a camp with small numbers of kids and a shared, specific focus. A week seemed the perfect length of time to introduce an outdoor adventure activity and allow the experience to blossom. We’ve built our curriculum around a “building block” style that brings the campers along a journey of discovery and fun. As campers develop at their own pace, tools and instruction are made available, goals are set and achievements celebrated for the individual as well as the group. Campers work within a group of 12-14, led by our Calleva-trained Activity Instructor and Group Counselor.
Each activity’s fun-filled curriculum prepares campers for the Thursday overnight, which is the culmination of the week! The overnight is not optional, campers won’t be available for pick up or a bus ride from camp. If your child is not ready for the overnight, check out our day camps.
The chosen activity is the focus for the Adventure Camps, but each week also includes fun group challenges and games. Adventure weeks are offered as one-week programs, but they are complementary. For campers who want to combine weeks and continue their development, Calleva can help create a multiple-week experience that allows them to mature within their interest or combine skills for all-around development.
Rain Plan: We are aware that there are concerns regarding Rain & Storms at camp. For any programs that we can continue to do the activities with happy campers we will do so. If for any reason the rain or storm has us stop the activity, then all groups have an alternative plan and location under cover. For adverse weather (such as severe storms), all activities have nearby shelters or use Calleva bus as a temporary shelter.
