Whether you love to compete or want to be part of a fun community paddle– the Seneca Showdown is the event for you! Come out and test your endurance against some of the Potomac River area’s best paddlers. The Seneca Showdown offers both a Downriver Race and an Attainment Race. Do one or do both! The race course is located on the class ll section of the Potomac River known as the G.W. Canal and Seneca Breaks.

10:30 am Downriver Racer Check in begins at River School Office Pavilion
11:15 am Down River Racer Meeting at River School Office Pavilion
11:30 am Downriver Race Start at Aqueduct
1 pm Lunch and Awards
1:30 pm Wildwater Demo at boat ramp
2 pm Team River Runner Family Paddling Program at TRR trailer
5 pm Activities end

Class A – Wildwater and Race Boats
Class B – K1 Boats over 13 feet including Wavehoppers, Sea kayaks, Phoenix Cascades, Slalom, and Mirage.
Class C – K1 Long Boats 10 – 12’11” including 12R, Dancer, Greenboats, etc
Class D- K1 boats under 10′
OC – Open Canoe
K2 – any tandem kayak

Each category must have 3 or more participants or will be combined with a like category. If we have enough registrants we will have women, men, and junior category for each class.
50% of proceeds to go to Team River Runner. Registration includes event swag (limited availability), lunch and a shuttle at the end of the downriver race. You may also opt to set your own shuttle at Pennyfield or paddle back up the canal.
The Seneca Showdown is a family friendly event with a wide view of the race course. Please bring your own picnic and blanket or chairs. We have plenty of lawn space!
