MD Co-ed Intermediate/Advanced Kayaking Camp

  • $805/week
  • This week includes an exciting Thursday Overnight*!
  • Available week 5
  • Ages 11-15 / Required skills include the following:
    • Wet exit
    • Comfortable wearing a spray skirt all day and able to get out if they flip over
    • Basic directional control
    • Some experience on Class II whitewater (like the Seneca Breaks or GW Canal)
  • Farm Lunches are available (+$65)
  • Transportation is available to/from Riley’s Lock
  • This camp is based at Riley’s Lock, but may travel to other sites nearby including:
    • Maryland Chute
    • Mather Gorge
    • Little Falls
  • Skill development includes
    • Boat Control & Advanced Strokes
    • Attaining and Surfing
    • Rolling techniques

VA Fishing & River Ecology (Ages 9-15)

VA Fishing & River Ecology Camp
This program moves to Camp Fraser for 2026!

Camp Fraser gives our Fishing and River Ecology campers to really get to know the beautiful Potomac River and its tributaries. Campers will fish ponds, creeks, and the river itself while also finding opportunities to learn about the many creatures that call these waters home. Campers can expect a mix of fishing and adventure, floating down the river, rapid swimming, and creeking throughout the week.

MD Start and End of Summer Adventures (Ages 8-14)

MD Start and End of Summer Adventures Camp

Start summer off right or keep the summer fun going until school starts with a variety of Calleva’s BEST activities!
Campers will rotate through different daily activities including: rafting, duckying (inflatable, sit-on-top kayaks), kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, rock climbing, and challenge course. The actual schedule of activities will be determined as we near the final weeks of camp. Schedules and activities depend on a variety of factors including staffing, equipment availability, water levels, and group dynamics.

VA Teen Extreme Sampler Camp — 2-week sessions available!
Virginia’s Teen Sampler camp is the perfect way to introduce your teen to outdoor adventure sports. Set on Calleva’s campus at Madeira School, our two-week sampler format gives teens experience with rafting, stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing, building survival skills in camper vs. wild, and getting on the river to island hop and explore. They’ll get to do multiple days of most activities, building skills and growing more confident as they take on new adventures never before seen in Teen Sampler Camp!
