Drew joined Calleva in 2023 with a mission to dive into everything Calleva and help launch new ventures in West Virginia, including The Trough Outfitters. A true outdoor enthusiast, Drew loves working with kids and believes in letting them fully embrace their energy and curiosity in the outdoors. He’s passionate about showing campers how their “hooligan energy” can be channeled into fun, challenging, and rewarding activities in nature.

During the summer, Drew serves as Director of Instructors, overseeing adventure camp trip itineraries, mentoring staff, and supporting instructors throughout the season. He finds great fulfillment in watching staff and campers alike grow—not just in their technical and leadership skills, but as people. “You can’t be a great instructor without being a great person,” he says, grateful for the chance to mentor young adults in some of the most beautiful outdoor locations around.

Drew especially loves running High Adventures in West Virginia and leading multi-day adventure trips for school programs during the year, particularly self-supported canoe trips. For him, the more time in the wild, the better. These extended trips, he believes, are the best way to bring out kids’ natural personalities and connect them deeply with the outdoors.

Passionate about whitewater kayaking, Drew also enjoys rock climbing and caving—basically, anything that keeps the adventure going. Constantly inspired by the incredible people he works with, Drew brings a contagious energy and enthusiasm to every program he’s part of.

Bring on the adventure!
