Welcome to your first downriver trip. We will be paddling from Anglers to Lock 10 through multiple rapids of the Potomac. Depending on the river level, your guide will lead you through rapids known as “Offut Island Wave,” “Yellow Falls,” and “Stubblefield Falls.” Along the way we will stop to take in the beauty of the 20 foot waterfall pouring from Scotts Run into the Potomac River and discover the many islands on this incredible section of river.
Pausing at a nice beach on the side of the river, we will continue to work on our rolls. By adding bracing strokes into our quiver, we will build confidence in paddling through bigger whitewater. We will then paddle under the American Legion bridge before reaching our take out at Lock 10.
In all beginner-level classes boats are provided. Kayaks are hardshell with an enclosed cockpit like Liquid Logic Remixes or Dagger Mambas. Any student signed up for a package (3 or more) of classes with us is welcome to join Tuesday night Open Practice sessions all season long.
