On Monday, August 21st, camp will go on as usual, and each group may have the ability to view the solar eclipse during their normal camp day. We would like all campers and families to know that we are excited for this opportunity and taking the necessary precautions to provide a safe and memorable day. At our staff meeting this Friday, all Calleva staff will be briefed about the precautions to take while viewing the eclipse, and they will be reminded of these precautions on Monday morning.
We encourage all guardians and parents of campers to review precautions with their children before sending them to camp on Monday. For helpful reminders that increase the knowledge and safety in preparation for the eclipse, please visit the NASA website.
Calleva will be providing a few eclipse glasses to each group, but we suggest you send your camper(s) with solar eclipse glasses of their own. Please use this opportunity to get your campers excited to safely experience this solar eclipse with us!
