VA Cubs Camp

At our Camp Fraser location in Great Falls, VA, Calleva Cubs experience a wide variety of outdoor adventures that help build enthusiasm and confidence in nature. Our goals are to inspire 4-5 year olds to:

• try new things,
• participate actively in teamwork,
• make new friends, and
• engage with curiosity about the natural world.

Cubs enjoy a lightly structured day, with itineraries that emphasize exploration, story time, singing, and plenty of free-play to relax and enjoy being kids the outdoors. Our Summer Cubs experience is modelled after the success of Calleva’s fall & spring Farm & Forest Cubs which adopts the “Forest School” philosophy originating in Scandinavia in the 1950s. We believe in the power of purposeful play in the outdoors as a way for young children to build confidence, experience nature, and engage in group learning.
