CALLEVA CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS

ABOUT OUR CERTIFICATIONS: With all the Calleva Staff that come together, we have learned a thing or two about getting staff certified. There are times when we can do "in-house" certifications, and then there are times when we outsource the job! Below is a list of certifications that we either have done multiple times OR those that we are bringing in the big guns for! If you are thinking about building up your base skills or you are interested in teaching in the outdoors, then certifications are the key to unlocking those opportunities.

The Certifications listed below are recognized on the Federal or State levels.

Commercial Drivers License (CDL Class B or C): If you need to transport vehicles with more than 15 passangers, then you need to upgrade your license - and it's not that easy! You will need to pass 3 tests: 1) Written Multiple Choice, 2) Pre-Trip Inspection (Walk-Around), and 3) Driving Practical.

American Red Cross First Aid/ CDR/ AED: Everyone should have this regardless of whether or not you work in a teaching environment. If you do, then you must! We open our class to the general public, and with our extensive training equipment and quality instruction, we will give you the confidence you need if such an occasion should arise.

ACA Swiftwater Rescue: Are you taking groups out on moving water, or going out yourself? Give yourself the skills that you need to safely navigate this unique environment. Great for Kayakers, Canoests, Rafters, and Instructors in such activities.

AMGA TRSM Climbing Instructor: Do you only want to lead trips in Maryland? Why get state certified when you can go all over the nation! Lead groups through the Top Rope environment and start your progression through the ranks of the nationally recognized American Mountain Guide Association. The TRSM course will be taught by curriculum author Jon Tierney, and give participants the skills & certification necessary for leading climbing programs.

American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid: If you are in the outdoors, then Basic First Aid just isn't enough. Here is the next step, without the huge committment of the WFR. Get your mind thinking about the environment you are in and what advantages and disadvantages there are for you to exploit.
