2010 C&O Adventures

C&O Adventures: This is Water-Based! Campers prepare to get wet. Utilizing Seneca Creek, Potomac River, and neighboring creeks; Explorers paddle, float, tube, swing, splish and splash in our water ways -and never without a PFD! The best way to cool off in the hot summer months, are to keep our campers hydrated and wet. This is not a swimming class, and swimming instruction does not take place. Also campers do not swim in the river or creeks without some sort of water craft and lifejacket. Campers DO have loads of fun, and learn about water, how to safely play in water - and some pretty awesome games! Get ready for a canoe trip to Pooles Store, or tubing down from Berryville - whateverthe schedule calls for it sure is going to be fun! This is a camper favorite.

All explorers do all activities, unless for health reasons. Special considerations for campers that have anxieties or health conditions can be addressed through communication that starts in our office. Water levels and associated quality are monitored throughout the summer.

Daily NeedsList: Lunch in ziplock bag, Bathing suit, Towel, Water shoes, Water bottle, Sunscreen and Hat!

Safety in and out of the water is essential for this activity to be fun. Our staff recognizes the potential dangers of waterways, and every camper is equipped with lifejacket, is well supervised, and has some type of water craft.
